On our ski touring weekend for beginners, which has the motto "from the piste to the terrain", we will introduce you to the secrets of ski touring away from secured pistes. The course content includes, in particular, the improvement of walking and skiing technique as well as correct track layout. Of course, you will also learn everything you need to know about using avalanche transceiver equipment and get a first insight into the complex subject area of avalanche science. This weekend is therefore ideal for all ski touring newcomers and piste goers.
The content of our ski touring course at the Stuibenhütte is absolutely the same as this course. So if your desired date is already fully booked, please take a look at the ski touring course for beginners at the Stuibenhütte.
Process:
Day 1:
We meet at the agreed meeting point and take the Kreuzeckbahn to our base in the ski area, the Kreuzeckhaus. There we start with an introduction to ski touring and safety equipment. Afterwards, the focus of the event is on teaching ski touring techniques, such as tracking, walking technique, hairpin bends, etc. After the lunch break, we continue with intensive training in how to use the often life-saving avalanche transceiver equipment. In addition to the avalanche transceiver search, the correct use of shovels and probes is also very important to us, as in the event of a real burial, the time until the avalanche victim is uncovered plays a central role. At the hut we end this eventful day with an insight into proper tour planning.
Day 2:
After the first day was a good mix of theoretical and practical knowledge, we would now like to put what we have learned into practice on a ski tour. That's why we're setting off today and climbing an easy to moderately difficult ski touring mountain. In the evening we can look back on an eventful weekend in which we learned a lot. Now we are ready for our first ski tour!
