Ice climbing is a fascinating winter sport that attracts more and more people. Climbing frozen waterfalls takes you to beautiful winter landscapes that you would never see otherwise. Equipped with crampons and ice tools, you climb wild ice structures and are always secured by a rope.
If you would like to experience this winter adventure live, this introductory ice climbing course at the Garmisch Alpine School is just the thing for you.
After the welcome and the handing out of materials, in a few minutes we will go to the ice fall that we will climb today. Both very easy and difficult tours can be found here side by side, which is why every participant will get their money's worth on this day. After we have all put on the equipment, the mountain guide will give a safety briefing. Then it starts. The first attempts are made with assistance and under guidance. Then we climb, always secured in top rope, until we run out of strength or motivation.
For a fee of €30 per day, mountaineering boots suitable for use with crampons can be hired from us.
We ask for a separate reservation stating your shoe size to info(at)alpinschule-garmisch.de
