The Tegelberg via ferrata near the castle of Neuschwanstein is a wonderful via ferrata with difficulties up to the via ferrata rating C. The fantastic mountain atmosphere and the beautiful climbing makes the day an unforgettable experience.
In the morning we meet at the valley station of the Tegelbergbahn. From there we comfortably ascent in about an hour to the start of the via ferrata. During the ascent we keep an eye on the wall and are excited about what to expect. At the foot of the wall, we put on our safety equipment, consisting of a helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set. Then we enter the wall and first follow the "yellow wall via ferrata" for a while to a striking iron ladder. The first easy meters are just the right thing to climb. Steep inclines alternate with short flat sections, ideal for enjoying the view of the Allgäu mountains. The key section awaits us in the lower part with a steep slab. We finally reach a ramp with a bench via a smooth intersection. This invites you to take a breather and take this opportunity to write in the wall book of the via ferrata. With renewed strength, we continue climbing and once again overcome some climbing with the via ferrata rating C. Shortly before the exit, we climb past a rock window and have the opportunity to take some breathtaking photos there. Then the terrain eases and we reach a saddle and the hiking trail.
That leads us past the Tegelberghaus to the summit. During a rest at the summit, we enjoy the view and look forward to a stop at the Tegelberghaus.
For the descent we choose the "yellow wall educational path via ferrata". The path is secured with ropes in some passages. With an A via ferrata rating, however, it will no longer cause us any major Problems.
