Our refresher climbing course is aimed at all those who learned to climb and belay some time ago and are no longer sure whether they are really doing everything right or not. On the other hand, anyone who would like to receive an update on climbing technique, belaying techniques and knot knowledge or who would like to be introduced to other belay devices can also take part.
At the beginning of the course, the level of knowledge of all participants is checked in order to be able to pick up all participants where they are. This is followed by a basic introduction to knots, belay techniques and the introduction of almost all of the belay devices on the market. Now the participants have the opportunity to have their current belay method checked by the course instructor and to correct possible errors. In addition, other belay devices can be tried and tested. The safety training is intensified and many elements of climbing technique are incorporated. Common accident patterns are explained and shown how they can be prevented by simple countermeasures. The partner check also plays an important role here.
At the end of this day, each participant should be able to use his belay device safely. Of course, individual questions can be clarified during the course.
This course takes place in the summer months (May - September) on the rock and in winter (October - April) in the Ehrwald climbing gym.
