The Blindseetrail on the Grubigstein is a "must ride" on the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitze. Magnificent panorama paired with flowing single trails, make this trail tour a great pleasure. After the ascent with the Grubigsteinbahn, only two short highlights have to be overcome and the run begins. A very nice, technically mostly not too demanding trail tour. However, you should have trail experience in order to have fun coping with the narrow, sometimes quite rocky passages. From the Blindsee, the way back starts with a short sliding passage, followed by flowing trails, forest paths and a piece of road back to the Grubigsteinbahn.
We meet at the Grubigsteinbahn. The train quickly takes us to 2030 meters. At the beginning we drive on the "forest two" trail, and after short time we turn right to the Blindseetrail. Now 600 meters of trail fun, flow, hairpin bends and scree are following- but you have to be careful, in the lower section a few exposed parts are waiting. During the tour we enjoy the view of the emerald green Blindsee.
Of course, there is also the option of forgoing the cable car and completing the ascent to the Blindseetrail on your own. The almost 700 vertical meters are mostly easy to pedal and not too steep, so that you can honestly "earn" the descent. Which variant we choose can be decided at the meeting point and depends on the mood of the participants.
